What an amazing start to the fall photo season! I’ve had the honor of documenting this wonderful family three times in the last year, and it’s been so cool to watch Wesley and Clare grow. I first met Ashley and Dan for Clare’s newborn photos last year, and then saw them again at the Christmas Tree Farm. This time, both Dan and Ashley’s parents were visiting from out of town so it was amazing to be able to include PopPop and Nana and GramB in their fall family photos.
It was a beautiful morning at Jones Point Park in Alexandria, Virginia, when I met with the Hay family to capture their fall family photos. I love morning sessions. The light is so pretty and it’s a wonderful way to start the day. We took a leisurely stroll over to the historic lighthouse, where we took advantage of the shade falling on the steps for some sweet family photos. Clare and Wesley were all smiles and it was clear that PopPop, Nana and GramB could not get enough of their sweet grandchildren.
We wandered over into a nearby field, and shared more love and snuggles. Wesley is such a sweet big brother, and he was really loving on Clare. Of course we took moments to capture some of the love that starts these sweet families, and the little moments with the grandparents. I love documenting the love across the generations.
We ended our session down on at the beach, skipping stones into the Potomac River. Clare took a few practice steps in the sand, and Wesley discovered treasures on the beach.
Thank you, Dan and Ashley, for trusting me to capture these sweet moments for your family. It is such a pleasure to watch Wesley and Clare grow, and it was amazing to document your parents spending time with their grandchildren.
